Google font doesn't work

Tabea Nov 07, 2018 12:37PM CET

Hi guys,

I'm trying to change my costume font (Neptune) to the Google font Raleway. For some reason even thought I upload it exactly the way it's described in this forum it doesn't work.

Can I send somebody of the Semplice team the admin rights to my website and you can support me directly? I already asked some developers but none of them could help me.

Thank you!

Hey Tabea!

Happy to help!

It’s possible your Google fonts are not working because they are installed locally on your machine, but not actually being loaded in Semplice.

Let’s try checking these things:

1. Ensure your system font name matches exactly what Google specifies. For example, if selected Roboto Condensed font, enter “Roboto Condensed” (with no quotes) as the system name under your Webfont settings.

2. Make sure you added all the correct weights in your Google Fonts export code.

3. Under the font Resources area in Semplice, double check that you selected “Service” and pasted your code there (NOT under Self Hosted).

Give that a shot and let me know!

Hey Jon!

Thanks for your fast answer. Unfortunately I couldn't find the mistake. I have no clue where the error is.

For example my code for the fullscreen cover is:

<span style="font-family: 'Raleway', sans-serif; font-weight: bold; font-weight: 700;">My name is Tabea Alexandra Scherer. I'm a Swiss designer currently studying Design Lead at Hyper Island in Stockholm. I believe good design can change the world.</span>

If I add one of my other two fonts such as Playfair (Google font) or Neptune (Self hosted) it works perfectly.

Do you have any other suggestion? Is it possible that I changed something in my Advanced CSS that affects the fonts usage?

Thank you,

Hey Tabea!

Hmmm. No, usually no CSS additions should affect the Google font. Is it possible you can share a screenshot of your settings? You can use imgBB or imgur to do so, or shoot us an email to so we can see. Please send screenshots of both the web resources settings and web font settings!
