Custom CSS works on "Branding" for page but not on advanced for whole site

daniel Oct 23, 2018 09:42PM CEST

I have some custom css that is working well on the branding "custom css" for my page but not as a global. Is there a simple reason for this, or do i need to include code?

Hey Daniel!

The Branding tab’s CSS editor ONLY adds CSS to that page. Have you tried adding your global CSS to the Customize > Advanced > Global CSS Editor? It should work if placed there, just make sure your syntax is correct (you don’t need to add style tags either, just plain CSS)

Yep, I tried. That's the strange part. It works at page level on branding tab css editor, but not globally. Makes no sense to me, so I thought I'd reach out. Any thoughts?

Hey Daniel,

Hmm, very odd. Again I might check your syntax in the global CSS editor for any errors. Also, a lot of hosting servers now are ‘caching’ changes on the front end, you might need to clear your browser cache or view incognito to see the new styles load in globally. You can disable caching in your hosting panel if it’s activated or in Wordpress if you are using a caching plugin.
